The role:

Within our RME division, we manage complex cross‑border recycling flows across Europe. As new EU regulations reshape the industry, we are strengthening our compliance and operational excellence capabilities to secure our long‑term growth.

As our Waste Shipment Regulation Expert, you will be the central point of expertise for all waste‑shipment‑related compliance within RME. You will translate complex regulation into practical, scalable processes and ensure that our operations remain compliant without slowing down the business.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement end‑to‑end compliant waste shipment processes, including:
    • Waste classification (legal vs. commercial)
    • Annex VII vs. notification flows
    • PIC procedures
  • Lead the DIWASS digitalization project across the division
  • Define governance, controls and documentation frameworks
  • Train and support internal teams (logistics, sourcing, sales, operations)
  • Act as the internal subject‑matter expert for complex cross‑border flows
  • Ensure compliance while maintaining operational efficiency and commercial continuity

Your profile:

Must‑Have Experience

  • 5–10 years of experience in:
    • Waste shipment regulation / environmental compliance
    • OR operational waste trading / recycling
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • EU WSR, Basel Convention, OECD framework
    • Notification processes (PIC, Annex VII)
  • Proven ability to translate regulation into operational processes (not purely advisory)
